The Qolsys IQ WIFI 6 Router uses 802.11 a/b/g/n/ax 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax 5GHZ WIFI technology. It is a dual-band mesh router with a Qualcomm IPQ6000 Chipset and 512 MB NAND & 512 MB DDR3-933 MHz memory. It comes with a wall or ceiling mount that offers cord storage, in case the power cord is longer than necessary.
By default, the IQ WIFI 6 offers three (3) network partitions, including the Guest Network and the Main Network. This partition is dedicated to the user's WIFI devices. Both of these networks will automatically switch between the 2.4 GHz band and 5 GHz, for seamless optimization of speed and performance. This feature is called band-steering, and cannot be disabled. That means if the end-user changes the SSID for the 2.4 GHz network, the SSID for the 5GHz network will automatically change to match it.
There is also a dedicated private partition called Security that is used by devices associated with the security system.
